I'm slowly, but surely getting caught up on blog postings! Erin + Waiel were such good sports for their e-session. We must have had the shoot on one of the hottest days of summer, but we didn't let the heat stop us from a great session. I probably looked a little worse for the wear afterwards, but luckily, I wasn't the one being photographed. They just let me do my thing and we up for anything I threw at them. I'm sad that I won't be photographing their wedding at Turbine Hall, but some of my pals in Circle of 8 will do a fabulous job w/o my help! I am happy to be a part of it all in this small way. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Alyson + Shane had a wonderfully intimate ceremony at the Joseph Ambler Inn this summer. You may remember them from their Italian Market e session. Much like myself and Zach, these two have been together for forever! Though it seems like they can't remember what life was like before they met, there was absolutely no shortage of love and emotion. Shane teared up a bit during the ceremony and Alyson made it all the way till the best man speech before cracking a tear, but it was definitely there! It was a beautiful day with some beautiful images!

Please join me at life (as an artform) - Philly ! I'll be hosting my friend Jesh de Rox's workshop on October 13-15th. I can say from first hand experience how amazing this workshop is. If you don't want to take my word for it, check out what some other recent attendees had to say:
Never in my
life has three days been so life changing. I walked away from that
experience a new person... A person who loved life in a whole new way.
As
a photographer.... I found a new way to connect with people. I find an
entirely new joy in photography. As a result.... Our business has
blossomed. I can now look at our work and see a distinct difference
between pre-Jesh and post-Jesh... And never, in any of the workshops I've
been to have I ever made such a huge leap in growth as an artist.
To
be honest, I can't wait to go to another Jesh workshop. Jesh has such a
way of opening up a spot in your heart... And you never ever want that
feeling to go away.
~ Bobbi Sheridan
I've
learned so much from the workshop, not just about work, but life in
general. Over the last few months, life has been happier, people around
me were happier... I started to notice things. Little things. Like how
my dad always laugh when he sees me at the door. How my mum smiles when
she talks about my nephew. Simple things that I used to see everyday,
but never appreciated. I can't find words to describe the kind of
feeling, but I can say, I've never felt better. It's been an incredible
journey so far.
~ Wansheng
Every
once in a while, you come across someone in your life that can change
who you are. They touch your heart, your soul and they make you a
better person. Jesh is one of those people.

When not shooting a wedding of my own, I've been quite busy second shooting this season with some fellow friends and colleagues. I've been able to tag along on a bunch of Ryan Estes's weddings this summer and we have a few more this fall I'll be working on for him. Here are a few of my favorites from Jennifer and Ryan's wedding! They actually had a Mister Softee ice cream truck come out for all their guests!

A good friend of mine sent me the link for Color Suckr last week and I've been having a ball testing it out! All you have to do is link the url of an image you'd like to pull a color scheme out of and it automatically pulls the most common colors out of it! It also gives you all the info needed on the colors to pull them up in programs such as Photoshop. You can also drag around the colors on the page to move and compare. Besides this being a great tool for decorating your home, it could be very useful in coming up with your wedding palette. Maybe pull some colors from one of your favorite images or paintings. Here are a few of my favorite prints that I tried it out on...
A print by JMW Turner
a print by Vincent Van Gogh
